Washita Valley Leadership Program Graduation 2010

April 20, 2010, marked the date for graduation ceremonies for Washita Valley Leadership Program. This is the 16th class that has graduated. 19 community members from Caddo County and surrounding areas completed leadership and community development training through this year's program. It was a great year of learning and networking: Good people and good times!

The final session of Washita Valley Leadership Program Class 16 was held on April 8,2010, at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. The Class enjoyed a day of communications training with Kerry Robertson. The class will be graduating on April 20. It's been a fantastic year of training, leadership development, and networking!

The Washita Valley Leadership Program Class 16 was out and about on February 16, 2010, learning about city and county government in Caddo County. The class met in courtroom 3 of the Caddo County Courthouse and sat in on several presentations and panel discussions on county services and the duties of our elected county officials. The schedule in the afternoon was a tour of the Caddo County jail facility (hosted by Philip Smith, Caddo County Jail Administrator) and an offender's panel. All in all, it was a busy and productive learning experience.


The next class will be held in Oklahoma City at the state capitol on March 2 and March 3 on the state government session. There will be an overnight stay and a jam-packed schedule as we hear from a variety of state officials about the duties and responsibilities of their offices. See you there!

Washita Valley Leadership Program session 6 had to be rescheduled due to weather conditions and power outages on February 2, 2010. This session on local and county government will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Caddo County Courthouse in Courtroom 3. The agenda for the day will be basically the same. Stay safe and warm everyone!

The Washita Valley Leadership Program met on January 14, 2010, for the "Youth & Education" session. Several presenters offered valuable information to the class. Topics ranged from the Juvenile Justice System to School Board Responsibilities to Drug Abuse. Those in attendance enjoyed a great learning experience and effective networking. We're looking forward to the next class on February 2, 2010, where the session topic will be "Local and County Government." See you there, WVLP Class 16!
